This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, specializing in hardscape elements such as patios, retaining walls, walkways, and decorative stonework. As a Hardscape Laborer, you'll be at the forefront of creating beautiful landscapes while gaining valuable experience in construction techniques and site management. Duties Assist with the installation of hardscape features including pavers, stonework, concrete forms, and retaining walls using hand tools and power tools. Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, excavating areas, and setting up forms for concrete pouring and finishing. Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers or mini-excavators to facilitate excavation and material movement. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate placement of materials and adherence to project specifications. Perform site inspections to ensure safety standards are maintained and work progresses according to plan. Collaborate with team members to execute tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship. Assist with other related tasks such as caulking, trimming, stucco application, masonry work, or glass installation as needed to support project completion. Experience Prior experience working on construction sites with exposure to hardscape projects or landscaping is highly preferred. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings enhances your ability to contribute effectively. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and concrete finishing techniques is advantageous. Knowledge of construction management practices including safety protocols and site inspections is beneficial. Skills in related trades such as carpentry (including trim carpentry and framing), masonry, roofing, plumbing, electrical work or restoration projects will set you apart. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards is essential.
