Job Description

Position Summary Lerch Brothers, LLC is a premier landscape construction company based in northern Baltimore County, Maryland, specializing in the design and installation of luxury outdoor living spaces. We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Landscape Construction Crew Leader to direct our installation teams on high-end residential projects. In this working leadership role, you will be responsible for managing on-site labor, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring that our award-winning designs are executed flawlessly, on time, and to our exacting standards. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Project Execution Crew Management:
Direct, train, and work alongside a team of 2-4 landscape laborers, ensuring high productivity, morale, and strict adherence to project plans and timelines.
Quality Control:
Oversee every phase of the installation process—from excavation and hardscaping to final planting and grading—ensuring all work meets Lerch Brothers' luxury standards.
Site Management:
Act as the primary on-site problem solver. Maintain a meticulously clean, organized, and safe job site, showing the utmost respect for our clients' elite properties.
Communication:
Coordinate daily with project managers and designers to report progress, request materials, and address any field adjustments.
Equipment Operation & Logistics Heavy Machinery:
Expertly and safely operate heavy equipment, specifically skid loaders and mini-excavators , to perform precise grading, trenching, excavation, and heavy material transport.
Vehicle Operation:
Drive company non-CDL trucks with heavy equipment trailers , maneuvering safely and confidently through high-end residential neighborhoods and tight estate driveways.
Equipment Care:
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on all assigned trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Construction & Installation Read and interpret landscape architectural plans, blueprints, and scaling to accurately layout job sites. Lead the installation of complex hardscapes (patios, retaining walls, walkways), proper drainage solutions, and large-scale plant materials (caliper trees, mature shrubs).
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
A strict minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in high-end landscape construction, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or foreman capacity.
Heavy Equipment Proficiency:
Proven, highly skilled ability to operate skid loaders and mini-excavators for fine grading and tight-quarters excavation.
Driving Capabilities:
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required. You must have extensive, proven experience driving non-CDL commercial trucks while safely pulling and backing up enclosed and heavy equipment trailers. (Must be insurable under our commercial policy).
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of grading, elevations, hardscape installation, and proper horticultural planting techniques.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform heavy physical labor, lift up to 50+ pounds consistently, and work outdoors in all Maryland weather conditions.
Leadership Skills:
Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to motivate a team to produce top-tier results.
Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
