Job Description

Merlo Construction is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Laborer to support our concrete construction company. The Yard Laborer will maintain the yard, organize materials, and assist with tasks related to concrete construction projects. This role demands physical endurance, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities Material Handling :
Load, unload, and organize construction materials such as rebar, formwork, and concrete tools, ensuring they are properly stored and accessible for construction crews.
Yard Maintenance :
Keep the yard clean and organized by sweeping, removing debris, and maintaining storage areas for construction equipment and materials.
Equipment Support :
Clean, maintain, and prepare tools, machinery, and vehicles used in concrete construction, such as mixers, trowels, and pumps.
Site Preparation Assistance :
Support construction teams by delivering materials to job sites, setting up formwork, or assisting with other tasks as directed by supervisors.
Inventory Management :
Monitor inventory levels of construction materials, report shortages or damaged items, and assist with restocking.
Safety Compliance :
Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and promptly report any safety hazards.
Qualifications Experience :
Prior experience in concrete construction, general construction, or a similar labor-intensive role is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Skills :
Basic knowledge of concrete construction tools and equipment is a plus. Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licenses :
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Work Environment The role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions, with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work based on project demands.
