Job Summary LJJ Construction LLC is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to support field operations on active construction projects. This role is responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks that keep job sites safe, organized, and running efficiently. Working under the direction of a Foreman or Project Superintendent, the General Laborer assists skilled tradespeople, maintains clean and safe work areas, and contributes to the timely completion of construction projects. Responsibilities Load and unload building materials, tools, and equipment Assist skilled workers such as carpenters, masons, and equipment operators Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and potential hazards Operate hand and power tools as needed under supervision Mix and pour concrete or asphalt; level ground and dig trenches as required Set up temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment as required Perform site maintenance tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and minor repairs Support various site activities to ensure efficient and timely project execution Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous construction or manual labor experience a plus, but not required Valid driver's license Ability to perform physically demanding tasks consistently and safely Comfortable working outdoors or in various weather conditions Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning new skills Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to company policies Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage, dependent on experience Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) with employer match On-the-job training and skills development Location This is an on-site position based in Houghton, Michigan, with travel to assigned job sites as needed.
