Job Description

Construction Laborer - Pole Barns & Exterior Specialist Custom Construction | Manistee, MI Custom Construction is looking for a skilled, hardworking Construction Laborer to join our team. We specialize in high-quality pole barns, roofing, siding, and window/door installations. We are looking for a reliable professional who takes pride in their craft, shows up ready to work every day, and maintains a clean, efficient job site. This is a full-time (40+ hours per week) position for a dedicated 1099 contractor who is looking for steady work and a team that values quality execution.
Key Responsibilities Site Execution:
Support the construction of pole barns, roofing projects, and exterior installs from start to finish.
Technical Support:
Assist with framing, metal roofing, and the precise installation of windows and doors under the direction of the site foreman.
Site Safety & Maintenance:
Ensure the job site remains organized, safe, and productive throughout the work day.
Digital Reporting:
Use our company mobile app for clocking in/out, submitting daily job updates, and logging site notes.
Reliability:
Arrive on time and ready to contribute to the daily build goals without needing constant supervision on basic tasks.
Requirements Experience:
Previous experience in residential or agricultural construction. Familiarity with pole barns and roofing is highly preferred.
Work Ethic:
A "first one there" attitude with a focus on high workmanship standards.
Equipment:
Must have reliable transportation (truck preferred) and a basic set of hand tools (hammer, tape, speed square, etc.) to perform daily tasks.
Tech Literacy:
Must be comfortable using a smartphone for all project documentation and time tracking.
Availability:
Ability to maintain a consistent schedule of 40+ hours per week.
