Job Description

Position Overview The Crew Lead oversees daily jobsite operations while remaining hands-on in the work. This role builds directly on the Experienced Carpenter position and adds responsibility for guiding a small crew, coordinating tasks, and ensuring jobs stay on schedule and on standard. The Crew Lead leads by example, balancing production with leadership, communication, and accountability. This position is ideal for someone ready to take ownership of day-to-day execution while continuing to grow toward full jobsite management.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, finishing, siding, decking, repairs, demolition, and site preparation Safely operate tools, equipment, and the majority of heavy machinery used on jobsites Read and follow plans, specifications, and company standards independently Direct daily crew activities and assign tasks based on project needs and team strengths Monitor productivity and ensure efficient workflow throughout the day Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety procedures at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite Identify and resolve routine jobsite challenges proactively Communicate job progress, material needs, questions, and issues clearly to the Foreman Train, mentor, and develop Entry Level and Experienced Carpenters Support crew morale, accountability, and a strong team culture Lead by example through reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic This role serves as the primary bridge between the crew and the Foreman and is the steppingstone to full leadership. Required Qualifications Previous experience as an experienced carpenter (2-4 years) with strong hands-on knowledge Leadership experience (Crew Lead, Foreman, or similar role preferred) Ability to run a job site and manage crew tasks efficiently Solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and quality standards Strong communication skills and a professional attitude on-site Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions year round DOT Health card Experience with remodeling, new construction, and jobsite planning Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Comfortable using power tools, hand tools, and measuring/layout tools. Experienced in safely operating all heavy equipment on jobsites required to complete the projects.
