Job Description
Underground Construction Laborer:
Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, barricades, traffic control, and material organization Support trenching, excavation, backfilling, compacting, and utility installation Assist with placing pipe, conduit, cable, and other underground utility materials Spot for equipment operators and help protect existing underground utilities Operate hand tools and small equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, and power tools Load, unload, clean, and maintain tools, materials, vehicles, and equipment Follow OSHA, DOT, company safety guidelines, and dig-safe procedures Participate in jobsite safety meetings and hazard assessments Communicate with crew members, foremen, and subcontractors to meet daily production goals Follow supervisor direction and work as part of a safe, productive crew
Requirements:
Previous construction, utility, or general labor experience preferred Valid driver's license with clean driving record Familiarity with trenching, pipe laying, or utility construction preferred Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions Strong safety awareness and damage prevention mindset Able to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 80 pounds Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain or in confined areas Able to use hand tools and power tools safely Able to pass drug screen and background check
