Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description This role combines hands-on warehouse work with field support for HVAC and mechanical installations. You will sort, lift, and organize a variety of tubing and cabling, support inventory activities, and assist experienced technicians on multi-unit commercial and industrial job sites. The position offers an opportunity to learn the HVAC and mechanical trades while contributing to both shop and on-site project work. Responsibilities Sort, lift, and organize a wide range of tubes, cabling, and related materials in the warehouse. Perform general warehouse duties, including inventory handling, cycle counting, and maintaining organized storage areas. Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks in a safe and efficient manner. Assist with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment for shop and field use. Travel with internal employees to customer sites to support mechanical and HVAC installations. Help install HVAC components, including ductwork and related materials, on multi-unit commercial and industrial projects. Use hand and power tools safely to support mechanical and HVAC installation tasks under direction. Communicate clearly with team members about equipment needs, material issues, and job assignments. Prioritize daily work assignments to meet project timelines and warehouse requirements. Follow all safety procedures and demonstrate a strong commitment to equipment and jobsite safety. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both the warehouse and on construction sites. Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or material discrepancies promptly to the appropriate team members. Essential Skills 1 to 2 years of experience working with similar warehouse or mechanical equipment strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with warehouse activities such as inventory, sorting, cycle counting, and organizing materials. Ability to effectively and safely use hand and power tools and related equipment. Basic proficiency operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to support mechanical and HVAC installation tasks. Ability to communicate clearly about equipment issues and understand job assignments. Ability to prioritize work assignments and manage multiple tasks during the workday. Demonstrated personal and professional integrity. Strong understanding of the importance of equipment and jobsite safety. Flexibility in taking on a variety of work assignments in the warehouse and on job sites. Physical ability to work in a jobsite environment for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching. Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization. Additional Skills & Qualifications Some trade school education related to mechanical, HVAC, diesel, or construction fields is desired. Previous experience as a construction equipment mechanic, crane mechanic, diesel technician, hydraulic technician, rental equipment mechanic, or in a similar role is preferred. Experience working on or around commercial or industrial construction sites is an advantage. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in both warehouse and field environments. Strong reliability and punctuality, with the ability to meet at the designated site each workday. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work primarily from a shop location, typically meeting at the Wake Forest area site each day around 7:00 a.m. and working until approximately 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility when job sites are closer to your home. The role involves a mix of indoor warehouse work and outdoor or partially sheltered construction sites at commercial and industrial properties. You will use warehouse tools and equipment such as pallet jacks, hand tools, and power tools, and you will assist with HVAC and mechanical installations in the field. The position is physically active, requiring frequent lifting, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe footwear, and you will be expected to follow all safety protocols while working in shop and construction environments. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
