Summary of Work Perform trail construction and maintenance activities, including grading, packing, and resurfacing Haul, place, and compact aggregate materials using trail-rated equipment and utility vehicles Clear vegetation, brush, trees, and debris from trail corridors Maintain drainage features, including ditches, culverts, and erosion control structures Mow and trim trails, staging areas, and associated facilities Install, repair, and maintain trail signage and markers Operate ATVs/OHVs and small engine equipment, including mowers, weed whips, compactors Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of tools and equipment Follow established safety procedures and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license required Prior years of experience in trail maintenance, construction, landscaping, parks maintenance, or related outdoor labor work preferred Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments, including lifting, digging, bending, and working in varying weather conditions Experience operating, or willingness to be trained on, small equipment and tools (e.g., mowers, weed whips, compactors, chainsaws, or similar trail/grounds equipment) Ability to safely operate, or be trained to operate, ATVs/OHVs and utility vehicles in outdoor terrain conditions Basic understanding of construction or maintenance practices such as grading, compacting, erosion control, and drainage work preferred Ability to follow safety procedures and consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE) Ability to work independently and as part of a small field crew Ability to obtain any required agency-specific certifications (if applicable) Preferred Qualifications Experience in trail work, landscaping, or related field Experience operating equipment or small engine tools About Team ND "Far and away the best prize life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." - Theodore Roosevelt More than 7,500 talented, hard-working people across sixty-three agencies have come together as Team North Dakota. Work is performed outdoors in steep, wooded, and remote terrain with exposure to weather extremes, insects, dust, and noise. Work may require weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak operational periods. Supervision Received:
