Seasonal, Full Time (30 Hours or More) Job Requirements and Properties Work Onsite Full Time Schedule Full Time Job Type Seasonal Job Description . Job Summary Performs recreation and parks facility and grounds maintenance support duties for the Recreation and Parks Department. Works under the general supervision of the Parks and Grounds Crew Supervisor and Recreation and Parks staff. Performs regular duties on own initiative utilizing knowledge of departmental policy and procedures.

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of parks and recreation facilities.
• Inspection of all facilities and completion of necessary tasks as a result.
• Playing field maintenance including lining, base repair, raking, dragging, and other tasks to ensure the safety of all users.
• Appropriate record keeping of hours worked and all work activities completed.
• General landscaping tasks including turf care, minor tree work, gardening, and other beautification needs.
• Plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks as needed
• Restroom facility maintenance including cleaning and repair.
• Labor support of recreation programs and special events.
• Vehicle maintenance including cleaning, safety checks, and minor repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

• Knowledge of current methods; practices; and equipment used in the maintenance; repair and inspection of recreation facilities.
• Knowledge of basic plant care and gardening techniques.
• Ability to identify and prioritize required maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and precautions applicable to the maintenance and repair of recreation facilities.
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment and tools including power tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat; precipitation; dust; mud; etc.
• Able to walk; sit; stand; use hands; listen/hear; climb/balance; stoop; kneel and crouch for extended periods of time.
• Able to traverse adverse terrain.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion; 25 pounds on a daily basis. Additional Information Help for Additional Information. Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Any combination of experience and/or training which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and ability to perform maintenance and repair of recreation facilities, grounds, and equipment.
