Laborer

Overview Egg Harbor Township is seeking dependable and hardworking individuals for Laborer positions within the Department of Public Works and the Recreation Department. Laborers perform a variety of maintenance, custodial, grounds, sanitation, and operational duties to help maintain Township facilities, parks, roadways, public spaces, and recreation buildings. Positions may involve indoor and outdoor work, physical labor, equipment operation, event support, and seasonal operations.

POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Road maintenance, drainage work, street sweeping, tree trimming, snow operations, and loose-leaf collection. Sanitation services including trash removal, bulky waste collection, vegetative debris removal, and custodial duties. Maintenance and cleaning of municipal buildings, parks, athletic fields, recreation facilities, and grounds. Set-up and breakdown of recreation programs, community events, and special events. Assistance with vehicle and equipment maintenance. Participation in emergency response operations and Clean Communities initiatives. Routine maintenance, cleaning, and general labor duties as assigned. Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid New Jersey driver's license required; CDL may be required for certain assignments. Ability to perform physical labor in various indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Experience in public works, custodial, maintenance, construction, sanitation, or related work preferred. Strong teamwork, communication, and public relations skills. Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Laborers may be assigned to divisions or departments based on operational needs and experience.

Pay:

$16.73 - $18.74 per hour
