Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description The General Laborer supports various commercial sites across Buffalo by safely loading and unloading materials. This role requires traveling to different locations, coordinating with on-site managers, and performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. The position offers consistent weekly hours, mileage reimbursement, and access to comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities Travel to multiple commercial client sites across Buffalo as scheduled. Meet with on-site managers at each location to receive instructions and coordinate daily tasks. Safely load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, or other vehicles. Lift, carry, and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more throughout the workday. Follow established safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques at all times. Maintain a clean and organized work area at each site. Report any issues, delays, or safety concerns to the appropriate on-site contact. Adhere to the assigned weekly schedule and arrive on time to each designated location. Use personal transportation to travel between sites and track mileage for reimbursement. Work collaboratively with other laborers and site personnel to complete tasks efficiently. Essential Skills At least 1 year of general labor experience. Ability to consistently lift and carry 50+ pounds. Reliable transportation suitable for traveling between multiple sites. Ability to follow directions from on-site managers and work independently. Strong work ethic and reliability with respect to schedule and attendance. Willingness to work in various commercial environments and adapt to different sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a laborer in commercial or construction settings is beneficial. Comfort working with changing tasks and priorities across different locations. Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and proper lifting techniques. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in commercial environments at various sites across Buffalo, supporting material handling and general labor tasks. The role involves frequent travel between locations, with mileage reimbursed at $0.65 per mile. The schedule offers a variety of start times and steady hours: Monday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (8 hours), Tuesday 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (6 hours), Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (6 hours), Thursday 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (6 hours), Friday 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (7 hours), and Saturday 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (7 hours). You can expect a physically active setting that requires frequent lifting, carrying, and movement of materials, along with adherence to standard safety practices appropriate for commercial work sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
