In this role, you will play a key part in building and installing a variety of lakeshore structures, including permanent docks, boat slips, retaining walls, stair towers, and boathouses on Skaneateles Lake. Starting pay is based on your skills and experience, with clear opportunities for growth as you develop your expertise. Duties Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks, including safely moving materials and equipment required for construction projects. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times. Operate power tools and equipment such as cordless saws, grinders, welding leads, cutting torches, and cranes. Complete carpentry work including decking, dock skirting, and structural framing. Carry out steel work such as welding, torching, and steel framing to ensure structural integrity. Assist with barge operation and transportation to and from job sites across the lake. Qualifications Physically capable of heavy lifting and standing for extended periods; comfortable working over water, sometimes with limited walkability. Ability to learn and understand project progression, and respond effectively to changing tasks and processes. Welding (stick), torching, and general metalworking skills are a plus. Previous experience in outdoor labor or construction is preferred; experience in metalworking, carpentry, or equipment operation is advantageous but not required. Familiarity with construction tools, methods, and job site environments is preferred. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools. Valid driver's license required. Strong punctuality and reliability. Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.
