Position Summary:

The General Laborer performs physical construction labor as part of a crew at various job sites. This position involves working with hand and power tools, assisting equipment operators, and performing general site preparation and restoration work.

Essential Job Functions:

Dig trenches and ditches; backfill excavations and compact soil to grade specifications Operate hand tools and power tools such as shovels, tampers, and jackhammers Move tools, equipment, and materials around job sites Clean up debris and assist with site restoration including blacktop and landscaping Signal equipment operators to assist with alignment and movement of machinery Perform other general construction labor duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Prior construction and/or general labor experience preferred Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools preferred Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to travel within service territories as needed Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors Project Requirements (Company Paid):

Blood Lead Test Respirator Fit Test Prerequisites:

Must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening Must pass a criminal background check and MVR check Valid Driver's License required Reliable transportation to and from job sites Ability to lift at least 50 lbs Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary High school diploma or equivalent required Travel may be required
