Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Construction Technician supports the installation, maintenance, and a variety of construction assignments related to the telecommunication industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Responsible for the day-to-day manual labor needed to support the construction operations Working with crews will include shoveling, assist in laying conduit, and providing general support to the construction process Working with line crews will include supporting the linemen by feeding cable, setting up street cones, pulling cable, job site cleanup, and providing general support to the line construction process Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE
High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Basic carpentry skills Pulling cable Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency Valid Driver's license is required DOT physical and good driving record is required Must be willing to travel
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time. May require traveling with occasional overnight stay (transportation and hotel are company provided) Exposure to characteristics of construction site dangers. Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite. Working at construction site.
