In this role, you will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility systems such as water and sewer lines. Your energy and expertise will help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable utility services for communities. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work outdoors in diverse environments while contributing to essential public works projects. Duties Assist with the excavation, trenching, and backfilling of underground utility lines using hand tools and power equipment. Support the installation of pipes, conduits, and other underground infrastructure components according to project specifications. Operate basic machinery such as trenchers, compactors, and loaders under supervision. Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members. Assist in site cleanup, material handling, and equipment maintenance to keep the work area organized and efficient. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding project progress or any safety concerns. Skills Proven experience working as an underground utility laborer or in a similar construction environment. Knowledge of underground utility systems including water, sewer, gas, or electrical lines. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction machinery safely. Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods. Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety procedures. Basic understanding of blueprints or technical drawings is a plus but not required. Valid driver's license preferred; familiarity with OSHA safety standards highly desirable. Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
