WEEKLY PAY
$20-$30/HRDAY/NIGHT SHIFT
Job Description This role involves working 10-hour days and may include weekends. The position operates Monday through Saturday, totaling 60-70 hours per week, with shifts rotating between AM and PM. Laborers support the installation, demolition, repair, and maintenance of high‑temperature industrial linings, utilizing materials such as brick, castable, ceramic, and related substances. The work is physically demanding, safety‑critical, and performed in industrial environments such as steel mills, foundries, and manufacturing plants. Responsibilities Assist refractory masons and installers with material handling, setup, and installation tasks. Perform demolition and tear‑out of old refractory linings using hand and power tools. Mix, load, and unload refractory materials, including bricks, castable, plastics, and tools. Assist with casting, gunning, and installation of refractory materials depending on project needs. Maintain an organized and safe workspace, following all PPE and safety protocols. Work in demanding industrial environments, sometimes including confined spaces, heat exposure, and heavy lifting. Essential Skills General labor experience in construction and demolition. Comfort working in confined spaces and hot, dusty environments. Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials throughout the shift. Reliable transportation to job sites in Carnegie and surrounding areas. Ability to follow safety rules and wear PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and fire-resistant clothing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Industrial labor experience preferred but not required. Ability to work with various construction materials and tools. Why Work Here? Work Environment Refractory laborers work inside or around furnaces, kilns, ladles, boilers, and other high‑temperature equipment. These areas can be hot, dusty, and noisy. The job requires working in demanding environments, which typically include tight or confined spaces, elevated platforms or scaffolding, and areas with heavy materials and equipment. The role involves long periods of standing, bending, lifting, and carrying. Strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory due to the exposure to dust, debris, and demolition work. Laborers handle heavy materials such as refractory bricks, castable materials, and bags of sand, mortar, and clay. Safety is paramount, with requirements to follow PPE rules, safety procedures for confined spaces, and OSHA‑aligned training and protocols Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carnegie, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
