Job Purpose:
Baxter Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to join our growing team.Scope:
To gain practical skills, knowledge of tools used, health and safety from the beginning of the project to the end and to develop personal (people) skills.Key Responsibilities:
Construction laborers and crew members carry out a variety of physical tasks necessary on building sites. They help to clear out debris from structures under construction or being torn down, unload and carry building materials to appropriate locations on the site, position and secure materials within structures, and operate heavy and light equipment. All construction laborers/crew members work directly under the supervision of a foreman and are required to follow the building plans created by the project managers. Some laborers specialize as crew members and assist skilled workers in specific phases of construction such as ,but not limited to: abatement, remediation, carpentry, roofing, and interior and exterior painting. Construction laborers work on an array of building sites including residential buildings; commercial buildings; demolition projects, and waste removal. We are looking for a crew of efficient, safety-minded construction laborers for a number of residential and commercial construction projects. We have long-term work available for the right candidate in a variety of positions. Responsibilities and duties required of this position include (but are not limited to): Loading of equipment and supplies Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor Building containment's prior to the removal of hazardous materials Cleaning up and disposing of contaminants as instructed Demolition or partial removal of building components Following all federal, state and local regulations and laws associated with the work being performed Follow all established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn Complete all assigned task in a timely and efficient mannerRequirements:
Basic knowledge of every type of construction tool, hammer and nails, tape measures, squares and levels. Power-operated tools are a PLUS. Ability to physically complete all tasks as assigned Willing to follow instructions and perform all tasks as assigned Willing to travel to project sites daily and for initial/annual certification renewalRELIABLE
Possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation Willing to travel to project sites daily and to training/certification courses after successful completion of probationary period Must pass pre-employment drug screen, remain drug-free and submit to random screening Must pass pre-employment criminal background check and have no felony convictions State licensure to work with hazardous materials preferred but not required; union certification preferred but not required Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift for multiple periods of the day. Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders, working at elevated levels Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of managementCompensation:
