Job Description

We are seeking to hire qualified candidates for our dynamic team ASAP! Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer and be a vital part of transforming blueprints into reality! This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, contribute to building strong foundations, and develop valuable skills in the construction industry. As a Construction Laborer, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting skilled tradespeople, ensuring safety, and maintaining a productive work environment. If you're eager to learn, hardworking, and ready to build something meaningful, this position is perfect for you! New Horizon is a locally owned and operated construction business with 20+ years experience on the job. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry tasks and be comfortable working on construction sites, mostly small residential projects. This role involves both independent and collaborative work, contributing to various projects including cabinet installation, remodeling, and roofing. Responsibilities Assist with site preparation by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and organizing materials to ensure smooth workflow Support skilled tradespeople by carrying tools, mixing materials, and performing basic tasks as directed Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members Operate basic construction equipment and tools under supervision, including shovels, drills, etc. Help with loading and unloading materials and supplies needed for various phases of construction projects Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards or issues that could impact safety or progress Maintain cleanliness of the worksite by disposing of waste properly and keeping pathways clear Perform maintenance person duties as needed, addressing a variety of maintenance tasks. Skills Basic understanding of construction sites and safety procedures; prior experience is a plus but not required Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions Valid driver's license preferred; certification in operating basic construction equipment is advantageous Knowledge of remodeling processes and best practices within the construction industry Ability to troubleshoot various issues quickly and effectively Experience with building materials and installation methods Experience operating machinery is a plus Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills Excellent teamwork abilities along with strong communication skills are a must have! We offer a competitive pay based on experience, work ethic and willingness to learn .• Most jobs sites are located within a 15 mile radius of our office location in Oil City, PA. Drivers license/clean driving record is highly preferred•. Work hours may vary depending on the jobs we have lined up , there is a possibility of overtime available on some job sites.
