Aid 4 Mobility is a locally owned and operated company in Rhode Island specializing in handicap accessibility equipment. We provide sales, rentals, service, and professional installation of stairlifts, platform lifts, vertical platform lifts, elevators, ramps, and other mobility solutions to help individuals maintain independence and accessibility in their homes and businesses. With over 25 years of experience, we are committed to quality, safety, and exceptional customer service across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Laborer to join our installation and service team. In this hands-on role, you will assist our skilled technicians with the delivery, setup, and installation of accessibility equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and making a real difference in people's lives by helping improve home accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting stairlifts, platform lifts, ramps, and related equipment. Help prepare job sites, including minor demolition, measurements, and cleanup. Support technicians during installations in residential and light commercial settings (e.g., securing rails, assembling components, basic carpentry or drilling tasks). Perform general labor duties such as material handling, tool organization, and site maintenance. Ensure all work is completed safely, neatly, and according to company and manufacturer standards. Travel to customer locations in RI (and occasionally MA/CT) in company vehicles.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (company vehicle use provided). Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 lbs regularly and work at heights or in confined spaces. Physical stamina for manual labor, climbing stairs, and outdoor/indoor work in various conditions. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a small team environment. Previous construction, installation, carpentry, or general labor experience is a plus but not required—we will train the right candidate. Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset (you'll interact directly with clients).
