Job Description

General Labor Painter wanted in Knoxville, TN! Will assist the lead painting crew by preparing job sites, performing surface repairs, and executing essential protective masking. Responsible for keeping the work area clean, and ensuring that no surrounding property or unpainted surfaces are damaged by paint drips or overspray.

Key Responsibilities:
Job Site Protection & Masking (Laying Out Plastic)
Floor Protection:
Lay out plastic sheeting, tarps, and drop cloths to completely cover floors, walkways, and heavy furnishings.
Surface Masking:
Use painter's tape to secure plastic sheeting to baseboards, trim, windows, and doors to create clean, sharp lines and prevent overspray. Surface Preparation Wash, scrape, sand, and wire-brush surfaces to remove peeling paint, rust, or debris so new paint will adhere properly. Fill holes, cracks, and dents in drywall or wood using putty, spackle, or plaster, and sand smooth once dry.
Painting & Equipment Maintenance:
Assist the lead painter in mixing and thinning paints, stains, and coatings according to the manufacturer's directions. Apply base coats or assist with rolling/brushing large, open surfaces like walls and ceilings. Clean and maintain painting tools
Cleanup:
Carefully remove all masking plastic, tape, and drop cloths without damaging newly painted surfaces. Sweep, vacuum, and clean the worksite.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $18.00 Per Hour
