SCHEDULE
: 6:30 AM
- 5 PM OR 7PM Responsibilities Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment necessary for demolition activities, including cutting, breaking, and dismantling ship components.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project scope and specific demolition requirements. Execute demolition tasks such as removing structural elements, plumbing, electrical systems, and interior fixtures with precision. Prepare sites by setting up safety barriers, securing hazardous areas, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols at all times. Assist with concrete forming, masonry work, framing carpentry, roofing removal, glass installation prep, and other related construction tasks as needed. Conduct inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards or issues requiring immediate attention or corrective action. Collaborate with construction management teams to coordinate project timelines, document progress using Bluebeam software, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the process. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site work with a strong focus on demolition activities within a shipyard or similar industrial environment. Familiarity with construction management practices, estimating processes, inspection procedures, and safety regulations. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment, and heavy machinery operation relevant to demolition tasks. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; experience with blueprint reading is highly valued. Knowledge of plumbing systems, electrical wiring basics, concrete forming techniques, masonry skills, welding procedures, and restoration processes is preferred. Experience working on construction sites involving roofing removal, stucco application/removal, caulking techniques, trim carpentry, tile laying, flooring installation or similar trades is advantageous. Strong understanding of schematics for electrical or mechanical systems; ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
