  • Posted on June 22, 2026 Published By Kristy Peiffer Trillium Construction is now hiring Spotters/Signal Persons on a PEMB Steel Erection site in the Oklaunion, TX Area!
The Spotter / Signal Person is responsible for maintaining safe movement of personnel, equipment, cranes, delivery trucks, and materials during the erection of a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB). The Spotter serves as the designated visual safety observer and communication link between equipment operators, crane operators, truck drivers, and ground personnel to ensure all operations are conducted safely and efficiently. The Spotter shall maintain constant awareness of surrounding activities and provide clear direction to operators when equipment is traveling, positioning, unloading materials, or making picks. The Spotter has the authority and responsibility to stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions exist.
Pay:
$20 per hour Per diem: 150/day worked
Schedule:
Monday-Saturday, 6am-5:30pm
Duration:
3 months Food truck on site provides 3 free meals a day Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Equipment and Vehicle Movement
  • Direct and monitor the movement of delivery trucks entering, exiting, and maneuvering within the construction site.
  • Maintain visual contact with operators while equipment is traveling through work areas.
  • Verify travel paths are clear of personnel, obstructions, overhead hazards, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate safe equipment movement in congested work areas.
  • Monitor and direct up to three pieces of equipment operating within the same work zone. Crane and Rigging Operations
  • Assist with crane operations by ensuring pick paths remain clear of personnel and obstacles.
  • Verify loads can be safely lifted and traveled through the work area.
  • Maintain communication with crane operators during lifting activities.
  • Monitor exclusion zones around suspended loads.
  • Stop lifting operations when unsafe conditions are identified. Material Receiving and Unloading
  • Direct incoming delivery vehicles to designated unloading locations.
  • Coordinate unloading activities to prevent conflicts with ongoing erection operations.
  • Ensure personnel remain clear of unloading areas during material handling.
  • Verify adequate space exists for material staging and storage. Site Safety Responsibilities
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness of all activities within assigned work areas.
  • Ensure workers remain clear of moving equipment and suspended loads.
  • Identify and communicate potential hazards before incidents occur.
  • Enforce established traffic control and pedestrian exclusion zones. Immediately stop operations when unsafe conditions are observed.

  • Familiarity with PEMB erection operations.
  • Understanding of crane and rigging safety practices.
  • Ability to maintain visual contact with multiple operations simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and hand-signal communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous conditions and react immediately.
  • Knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
