Draper, UT Job Details Full-time $19 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Qualifications Outdoor work Shovels Hand tools Full Job Description The Laborer supports field irrigation installation and service operations under the direct supervision of the Lead Technician. This is a physically demanding, outdoor position requiring reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions precisely and efficiently on residential job sites throughout Salt Lake County. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are representative but not exhaustive. The Laborer is expected to perform any task assigned by the Lead Technician in support of job completion. Excavation and Site Preparation Excavate trenches for irrigation mainline, lateral lines, and valve installations to specified depths and grades. Dig and prepare bearing trenches as directed for equipment and piping support. Assist with backfilling, compacting, and restoring disturbed soil and surface materials following installation. Parts and Material Logistics Accompany or make independent runs to supply vendors to source and procure parts and materials as directed by the Lead Technician. Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials on the job site and company vehicles. Maintain accurate communication with the Lead Technician regarding parts availability and any procurement issues. Job Site Maintenance and Cleanup Collect and properly dispose of job site waste, debris, packaging, and spent materials throughout and at the conclusion of each workday. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. Return tools and equipment to designated storage locations at the end of each shift. General Field Support Assist the Lead Technician with all phases of irrigation installation and service work as instructed. Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Lead Technician necessary to complete the job safely and efficiently. Communicate proactively with the Lead Technician regarding task status, obstacles, or questions. Physical Requirements Ability to perform sustained physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to kneel, squat, bend, and work in confined or low-clearance spaces. Ability to operate hand tools and manual digging equipment such as shovels, picks, and tampers. Work Environment Outdoor residential job sites throughout Salt Lake County. Exposure to sun, heat, dust, and varying terrain. Work hours align with scheduled crew assignments; early start times are typical during peak season. Qualifications No prior irrigation experience required; on-the-job training provided. Must be punctual, dependable, and able to take direction without repeated prompting. Valid driver's license preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the assigned Lead Technician on all job site matters. Administrative matters are directed to company ownership.
