Laborer City of Fife - 4.2 Fife, WA Job Details Full-time $5,691.82 - $6,223.68 a month 1 day ago Qualifications Maintaining an organized workspace Removing debris Equipment repair Heavy equipment operation Unloading Routine inspections Driving Power tools Construction Clean workspace maintenance Hand tools Machine minor repairs Entry level Full Job Description JOB Under direction, perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair and construction duties primarily in the City water, sewer, storm and streets divisions.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to Participate as a member of a crew performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair and construction duties for an assigned Public Works division.

Assist in inspecting a variety of City systems, structures and equipment to identify repair needs; perform minor adjustments and repairs utilizing tools and other equipment and notify appropriate personnel of major repair needs.

Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of systems, fixtures and equipment; replace damaged components as necessary.

Provide traffic control for assigned City streets and intersections; direct traffic utilizing established flagging techniques to assure safety of work sites.

Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools and equipment; operate meters and other testing equipment as directed; operate grounds and heavy equipment as appropriate.

Drive a vehicle to conduct work; load, transport and unload materials, supplies and equipment as needed.

Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly condition; pick-up and dispose of trash and debris; clear passages, drains, lines and piping as necessary.

Work from oral and written instructions and work orders; respond to emergency repair needs as requested.

Communicate with the City personnel to exchange information.

Apply and remove paint as directed.

Perform related duties as assigned.
