Haas Sons, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer seeking motivated Pipe Laborers to join our Street Crew Division. This position offers the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment. Travel to job sites throughout the region is required; however, employees are home most nights. Our primary work areas include Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Thorp, Wausau, Stevens Point, Hudson, Hayward, and La Crosse. What We Offer Competitive hourly wage based on experience Above-industry-average 10% company 401(k) contribution Health, dental, vision, and life insurance options CDL holders receive a higher starting wage Steady, full-time work with overtime opportunities Position Summary The Pipe Laborer supports underground utility and street construction projects by assisting with installation, repair, and maintenance of utility pipe systems. This role plays a key part in preparing job sites, installing pipe, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Arrive on time and prepared to work each day Assist with excavation, trench preparation, and grading Shovel materials and prepare ground for pipe installation or black dirt placement Lay, align, fit, and connect utility pipe according to project specifications Assist with demolition and job site cleanup Load and unload materials and equipment Follow directions from supervisors and crew leaders Safely operate equipment when directed and qualified to do so Follow all company safety policies and procedures Qualifications & Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, and work in trenches Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work extended hours, including 12-hour days and overtime (Monday-Friday) Valid driver's license preferred CDL is a plus and compensated at a higher rate Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations Strong work ethic and ability to work well as part of a team This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, being outdoors, and contributing to essential infrastructure projects within our communities.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
