Job Description
Project Manager - Sitework / Civil Construction A growing civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee site development and horizontal construction projects for residential communities and municipal work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, family-owned company with a strong reputation, a healthy backlog of work, and significant growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is a strong Project Manager with experience in excavation, grading, and underground utilities who can manage projects from preconstruction through completion while maintaining schedules, budgets, and strong field coordination. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of sitework and civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee excavation, grading, storm drainage, water, sewer, and underground utility scopes
- Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and municipalities
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and overall financial performance
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and change orders
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Identify and resolve project risks and field issues proactively
- Communicate project updates with leadership, clients, and stakeholders Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in civil construction or site development
- Strong background in excavation, grading, and wet/dry utilities
- Experience managing residential development, land development, or municipal sitework projects
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Stable work history with reputable contractors (no frequent job hopping)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
Up to $120,000+ per year (based on experience)- Competitive compensation package + bonus potential
