The ideal candidate has strong field leadership skills, extensive experience managing healthcare renovations with minimal disruption to ongoing operations, and a proven track record delivering projects ranging from $500K to $2M on schedule and within budget. This role requires exceptional coordination, inspection management, safety awareness, and communication skills while working in active healthcare facilities where infection control, patient safety, and operational continuity are critical. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day field operations for healthcare tenant improvement and renovation projects. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field staff to maintain schedule and quality standards. Lead construction activities in occupied healthcare environments while minimizing disruption to patients, staff, and ongoing facility operations. Develop and enforce site logistics, phasing plans, noise control, dust containment, and infection control procedures. Maintain project schedules and proactively identify and resolve field conflicts and delays. Conduct daily site walks and safety meetings to ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements. Coordinate all inspections and maintain inspection control throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure all work complies with plans, specifications, healthcare regulations, and jurisdictional requirements. Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, and field communications. Participate in owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and coordination with hospital/facility staff. Oversee quality control and punch list completion through project closeout. Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent for a commercial general contractor. Extensive experience managing healthcare tenant improvement projects in occupied facilities. Proven experience with projects ranging from $500K to $2M. Strong inspection control experience, including coordination with AHJs, OSHPD/HCAI (if applicable), and healthcare compliance requirements. Deep understanding of infection control risk assessment (ICRA), interim life safety measures (ILSM), and occupied-space construction protocols. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with construction management software and daily reporting tools. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Preferred Experience Experience working in hospitals, surgery centers, medical office buildings, or healthcare campuses. Knowledge of healthcare construction sequencing and shutdown coordination. Experience with permitting and inspections in regulated healthcare environments. Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software platforms.
