Job Description

Construction ManagerLocation:
Greater Phoenix Area, Arizona Work Arrangement:

Competitive base salary with bonus structureAbout the RoleThe Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end delivery of mission‑critical data center projects, from pre‑construction through commissioning and handover. This role sits within a highly integrated construction organization that works closely with development, engineering, operations, and external build partners to deliver complex facilities to exacting performance standards.

Unlike traditional oversight roles, this position carries real authority and accountability across project execution, budgets, schedules, quality, and stakeholder coordination. The Construction Manager is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment while driving projects forward in a fast‑paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership and DeliveryManage all phases of construction delivery including pre‑construction planning, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bid processes, contractor selection, construction execution, commissioning, and closeoutOversee project scope, schedules, and budgets across multiple workstreams and project sizesDevelop RFPs and support overall project budgeting and procurement effortsCoordinate and supervise design‑build contractors and specialist trade partnersMaintain strong oversight of site activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to specificationFinancial and Commercial ManagementReview monthly contractor billings and perform site walks to validate progressSubmit regular project financial reporting, including forecasting and cash flow analysisSupport contract development, negotiations, and ongoing vendor performance managementIdentify cost, schedule, and delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategiesCross‑Functional CollaborationPartner closely with design teams, engineering, operations, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless coordinationSupport commissioning activities and facilitate smooth handover of completed facilities to operations teamsEnsure all deliverables comply with engineering standards, applicable codes, customer requirements, and project specificationsMaintain strong awareness of mission‑critical operational requirements and long‑term facility performanceContinuous ImprovementCapture lessons learned and drive process improvements across project deliveryContribute to cost optimization, schedule efficiencies, and execution best practices throughout the project lifecycleAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as required to support project success and business objectivesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years of experience managing increasingly complex construction projects; 7+ years preferredExperience delivering data center or other mission‑critical facilities strongly preferredProven expertise managing both CSA and MEP construction scopesStrong commercial awareness with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and contractor managementWillingness to travel up to approximately 20 percent, with flexibility as project needs evolve
