Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Civil / Site Department Manager to lead and grow our site development team in Brentwood, Tennessee. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing civil engineering design, managing staff, driving project delivery, and supporting business development efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in site development along with proven leadership and client management skills. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of civil engineers, designers, and support staff Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment Manage staffing levels, performance reviews, and professional development plans Project Management & Delivery Oversee planning, design, and execution of site development projects (commercial, residential, and/or industrial) Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and construction documents Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies Technical Oversight Provide guidance on grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion control design Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (including Tennessee codes and permitting requirements) Maintain knowledge of industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies Business Development & Client Relations Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, and municipalities Support proposal preparation, fee estimates, and contract negotiations Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the department Operational Management Manage departmental budgets, resources, and financial performance Monitor project profitability and implement improvements where needed Support strategic planning initiatives and company goals Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Tennessee or ability to obtain via reciprocity) 8-12+ years of experience in civil/site development engineering 3+ years of leadership or management experience Strong knowledge of site design, grading, drainage, and utilities Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software Preferred Experience working in the Middle Tennessee market Established network of local clients and contacts Proven track record in business development Key Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team-building abilities Excellent communication and client-facing skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving capability Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Financial acumen and project budgeting expertise Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO) Professional development and career advancement opportunities Why Join Us?
