They bridge the gap between administration and classroom instruction, focusing on high-quality care, staff development, and parent communication.Key Responsibilities Staff Leadership:
Mentoring teachers, providing feedback, conducting evaluations, and overseeing classroom staff and volunteers.Regulatory Compliance:
Maintaining compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, and health/safety standards.Curriculum Development:
Coordinating developmentally appropriate curriculum and ensuring quality instruction.Operations Management:
Handling daily routines, scheduling, enrollment, and administrative tasks.Family Engagement:
Addressing parent inquiries and building positive relationships. Qualifications (Typical for California)Education:
Typically requires an Associate's degree (or 60 units) with at least 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE)/Child Development (CD) units.Specific Training:
Usually requires 6 semester units in administration and 2 units in adult supervision.Experience:
requires at least 350 days of experience (working 3+ hours per day) within 4 years,.Permit:
A valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit issued by the state is often required. Common Skills Strong communication and leadership abilities.
