Required Duties and Responsibilities:
Superintendent:
Directs, oversees, and coordinates all construction activities and personnel. Authorized to stop any work production that does not meet industry standards of quality workmanship and/or deviates from contract documents, and direct removal/replacement of non-conforming or compliant work. Adheres to methodology of performance outlined in the Quality Control Plan, encourages job site safety, enforces safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately. Conducts daily safety meetings, daily reports, and upholds an organized job site at all times. Restricts and limits site access to authorized personnel. Reserves the right at any time to restrict site access to any personnel that may impede productivity, pose a safety hazard, or any and all reasons that may pose a detriment to project. Ensures that the historical fabric of the site is protected through compliance with the archeological, cultural, and natural resources requirements outlined in the project contract documents. Effectively communicates and maintains a positive business relationship with customers, contractors, suppliers and other ICBI employees. Orders materials and adheres to project inspections and testing as necessary throughout the project. Ensures that all construction debris and hazardous waste is properly disposed of in accordance with contract requirements, as well as state and federal regulations. Tracks and updates project schedules & budgets, including a 3-week look ahead, to ensure the project is completed on time & within budget.
QC Manager:
- Inspect the work performed each day for compliance with the plans and specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate the inspection and tests made by other members of the Quality Control Team.
- Certify daily that all material and equipment delivered to the job site complies with the specifications and drawings.
- Review, approve or disapprove and/or certify those submittals designated to be checked by the CQC in the Log of Submittals.
- Ensure that all tests, required or necessary, are performed and report the results of same.
- Report deviations from the plans and specifications on the Contractor's Daily Quality Control Report.
- Maintain a Check-off list of work that does not comply with the Contract, including a description of non-complying work, discovery date and correction date.
- Up-date and maintain "as-built" drawings.
- Remove any individual from the project who consistently fails to perform his work in compliance with the specifications and drawings.
- Immediately stop any segment of work which does not comply with the specifications and drawings. This applies to off-site as well as on-site work.
- Certify Contractor Daily Reports are complete and correct.
- Report on daily report all inspections made and results. Account for all preparatory, initial and follow-up inspections listed in the CQC Plan.
- CQC Manager or alternate CQC Manager shall be on-site at all times during construction.
- Should the CQC Manager not be able to be on-site, he should notify ICBI.
They, in turn, will notify the alternate CQC Manager to be on-site.
SSHO:
- Working with project management, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure that safety is maintained, and safety policies followed and in compliance in all areas by conducting regular and unannounced periodic jobsite inspections, through training, posting, and open communication.
- Be familiar with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and ensure its effective implementation.
- Ensure that Ironwood Commercial Builders Inc., subcontractors, and employees including visitors are wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Not direct employees to perform tasks for which they have not received proper training.
- Provide safety training to new and transferred employees. Instruct employees in both general and job specific safe work practices.
- Set the proper example for employees to follow.
- Actively participate in all safety activities.
- Take prompt corrective action whenever unsafe conditions and unsafe acts are reported and observed.
For those employees who work under construction orders, ensure that "tailgate" or "toolbox" safety meetings are conducted at least every 10 working days. These meetings are designed to review hazards associated with upcoming work and communication systems in place to prevent employee injury or illness. Superintendents and Project Managers are responsible for submitting their completed tailgate meetings to home office by faxing, scanning, or dropping off.
- Ensure that Ironwood Commercial Builders Inc. subcontractors, 2nd tier subcontractors, and suppliers, have the appropriate training and certifications to safely perform their jobs.
- Utilizing all available resources to ensure hazards are reasonably resolved in a timely manner.
- Disciplining workers for failure to comply with safe and healthy work practices, follow- up with human resources including the safety committee.
- Issue "Notification of Hazardous Conditions" or "Stop Work Order" to subcontractors that do not comply with Ironwood Commercial Builders Inc. Accident Prevention Plan. Refer to Section 4 Subcontractor and Supplier for further details.
- Working with management and the safety committee to respond to employee safety suggestions and reports of hazardous conditions.
- See that all injuries, no matter how minor, are treated immediately and reported to the person responsible for reporting claims.
- Conduct accident investigations of all jobsite injuries or reported near miss (non-injury incidents) to identify the cause and provide corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Ensure that Cal/OSHA and/or Fed-OSHA have been notified within 8 hours of any serious injury or death.
- Additional duties include Project Specific Site Safety and Health Officer duties specified in each project scope of work.

Self-motivated Beneficial Experience & Qualifications:
Federal construction experience highly desired. Trade experience such as Carpentry, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil. Must have strong knowledge of building processes and blueprint reading. Must have a minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar role. Must have complete working knowledge of scheduling, daily reports, safety meetings and inspections, quality control meetings and inspections, submittals, RFIs and change order processes.
