The Mission:
We're looking for a technically-minded Pre-Construction & Permit Coordinator who understands that a successful renovation starts long before a sledgehammer hits a wall. At MODE Renovation, you aren't just filing paperwork; you are the bridge between architectural vision and municipal reality. Your mission is to ensure every "wetspace" renovation is technically compliant, accurately measured, and permitted. You will navigate the complexities of Southern California building departments, ensuring our installers hit the ground running with approved plans in hand.
The Impact You'll Make Plan & Scope Review:
Review architectural sets and project scopes for local code alignment (CRC) and "buildability" before submittal.
Technical Liaison:
Build professional relationships with city plan checkers and building officials; you will be the point person for resolving "corrections" regarding plumbing, egress, or structural details.
Permit Strategy:
Manage the entire permit lifecycle for high-volume residential remodeling, from initial plan check to final issuance.
E-Permit Mastery:
Navigate various Southern California electronic permit portals with speed and accuracy.
Timeline Optimization:
Monitor permit status daily, proactively pushing for approvals to align with our aggressive production schedule.
Cross-Functional Support:
Partner with Designers and Project Managers to provide accurate updates on permit timelines and code restrictions.
What You Bring Construction Literacy:
1+ years of experience in a permit-related role specifically within the construction, remodeling, or architectural industry .
Technical Skill:
Proven ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and proficiency using an architectural scale/ruler .
Code Knowledge:
Familiarity with California Residential Code (CRC) and Southern California municipal requirements for bathroom and kitchen renovations.
Tech Savvy:
Proficiency with e-permit portals, Microsoft Office, and project management software ( Buildertrend experience is a major plus). The "MODE"
