Environmental Construction, Inc. is engaged in building public works projects in Southern California. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with direct contractor-side experience managing water, wastewater, pump station, treatment plant, pipeline, reservoir, tank, and related municipal infrastructure projects . This position is intended for a construction PM who can manage public works projects from startup through closeout, coordinate with agencies and inspectors, manage subcontractors and suppliers, track RFIs/submittals/change orders, and maintain control of schedule, budget, procurement, and documentation. Roles & Responsibilities [Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Construction] Manage public works construction projects from preconstruction/startup through closeout. Review and understand project drawings, specifications, addenda, contracts, and agency requirements. Process and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, pay applications, procurement logs, and closeout documents. Coordinate with public agencies, inspectors, design engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, superintendents, and internal management. Perform quantity takeoffs and field quantity tracking to support buyout, cost control, progress reporting, and change order management. Manage subcontractor and supplier buyout, procurement, coordination, scheduling, and change order review. Create and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 Cloud. Monitor project schedules, submittal logs, procurement logs, and critical path items. Identify long-lead materials and procurement risks early. Track project costs, production, pending changes, and budget impacts. Prepare and support change order requests, time extension requests, and related backup documentation. Confirm project activities are meeting schedule and production benchmarks. Support field staff with issue resolution, documentation, agency coordination, and project planning. Maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships while protecting the company's contractual position. Qualifications [Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Construction] Direct experience as a Project Manager for a general contractor or subcontractor. Experience with water/wastewater, pump station, treatment plant, pipeline, reservoir, tank, utility, or similar heavy civil infrastructure projects strongly preferred. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, scheduling, and closeout. Ability to read plans and specifications and identify conflicts, scope gaps, and constructability issues. Working knowledge of prevailing wage public works requirements. Ability to coordinate with public agencies, inspectors, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong planning, organization, follow-up, and time management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Primavera P6 or P6 Cloud preferred. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, but equivalent contractor-side public works experience will be considered.
