Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Superintendent specializing in Heavy Civil projects to lead and oversee large-scale infrastructure developments. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate all aspects of construction operations on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership will drive project success by managing teams, maintaining schedules, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence across complex civil works such as roads, bridges, pipelines, and other heavy civil structures. Responsibilities Lead and supervise construction activities on heavy civil sites, including pipelines, bridges, roads, and related infrastructure projects. Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software to ensure timely project delivery. Oversee daily site operations, managing subcontractors, suppliers, and labor crews to maintain productivity and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide onsite execution accurately. Monitor project budgets and perform cost control measures utilizing HeavyBid or comparable estimating tools. Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. Coordinate with project managers on contract scope, change orders, and compliance issues to ensure contractual obligations are met. Implement quality control procedures to verify work meets specifications; utilize tools like Ohmmeter for electrical testing when necessary. Maintain comprehensive documentation including daily reports, incident logs, inspection records, and progress updates. Foster effective communication among team members to promote collaboration and resolve issues promptly. Experience Proven management experience supervising heavy civil construction projects from inception through completion. Extensive site experience with a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and OSHA standards. Demonstrated expertise in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar platforms. Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings specific to pipeline projects or heavy civil infrastructure. Experience with project scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is essential for coordinating timelines effectively. Background in construction estimating using HeavyBid or equivalent programs is highly desirable. Supervising teams with a focus on quality control, budgeting accuracy, and adherence to project specifications. Knowledge of contracts management processes including scope review and change order administration is preferred.
