Position Description:
Manage construction activities to meet the requirements of the project scope, budget and schedule. Plans, organizes, directs and reports construction management activities and progress to management and/or owner Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements Review and respond to Submittals and Requests for Information Coordinates with public agencies during construction to comply with project requirements Performs day-to-day contract administration including assisting the Senior Project Managers in bid analysis, pre-construction meetings and related award coordinating activities Reviews contractors' construction schedule, submittals, correspondence, claims, and respond to contractor inquiries. Prepare narrative of findings, submit and present to management for decision making Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule. Conduct construction/project site visits. Provide daily work reports, weekly and monthly reports required by client. Conduct preconstruction meeting, progress meetings and any additional meetings necessary for the project and develop meeting minutes and agendas. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution Oversee public works and building projects such as schools, civic facilities, and infrastructure improvements Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and public agencies Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations , including public contracting requirements Monitor project budgets, schedules, and quality control standards Lead project meetings and provide progress reports to stakeholders Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals Ensure job site safety and enforce OSHA standards Manage inspections, permits, and project closeout documentation
Minimum Required Qualifications:
10+ years of construction management experience (required) Strong experience with public works / government-funded projects Experience with K-12, higher education, or municipal building construction preferred Knowledge of California public contracting laws (prevailing wage, DIR, etc.) Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.) Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication. Preferred Certifications CCM (Certified Construction Manager) PMP (Project Management Professional) OSHA 30 Compensation Competitive salary: $110,000 - $145,000+ (DOE)
