Commercial Construction Project Manager

We specialize in both public works and private commercial construction , with a strong track record delivering projects for school districts, public agencies, and private clients. We're looking for a highly motivated Project Manager to join our team and help lead projects from preconstruction through closeout. Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of assigned projects—planning, coordination, budgeting, and execution—across a mix of public and private work . This role works closely with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all contract requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of multiple construction projects from start to finish Lead a mix of public works and private commercial projects Review plans, specs, and proposals to define scope, schedule, and budget Develop and maintain project budgets while ensuring profitability Prepare and manage: Subcontracts Change orders RFIs and submittals Project documentation and reporting For public works projects: Ensure compliance with prevailing wage and labor requirements Coordinate certified payroll and labor compliance Work with inspectors, agencies, and regulatory bodies For private projects: Maintain strong client communication and responsiveness Help drive value engineering and cost control solutions Lead weekly project meetings Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams Communicate effectively with: Owners and Owner reps Architects and consultants Subcontractors and suppliers Track costs, identify risks early, and implement solutions Support estimating, takeoffs, and proposal development as needed Qualifications Experience managing commercial construction projects (public and/or private) Public works experience (prevailing wage, labor compliance) strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications Experience with budgeting, estimating, and contract management Strong organization and time management skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
