Job Description

Job Summary:
The Construction Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains the job site office and closes out projects. •

Primary Duties:
1. Represents company in a professional manner at all times 2. Coordinates and supervises all construction activities. 3. Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications. 4. Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems 5. Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. 6. Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list. 7. Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately. 8. Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to stipulated company and project safety policies. 9. Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office. 10. Ensures that the budget is followed in terms of purchases and wages 11. Records the total costs for materials bought and payments for work done 12. Liaises with government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety 13. Writes project progress records in liaison with the foreman 14. Maintains labor posters on job sites in accordance with both Federal and California state laws 15. Perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, and safety enforcement for the Contractor 16. Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to stipulated company and project safety policies. 17. Familiar with requirements of
USACE EM
385-1-1, and experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance. 18. Ensure a high level of internal and external quality control. Investigate (and correct) issues and complaints relating to quality. 19. Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills:
    Building and Construction:
    Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
      Engineering and Technology:
      Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
        Design:
        Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
          Leadership:
          Superb leadership skills and ability to direct a team
            Organization:
            Utilizes strong organizational skills and has great attention to detail
              Communication:
              Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
                Problem Solving:
                Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.
                  Interpersonal Skills:
                  Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
                  • Must be computer literate
                  Work Environment:
                  • Ability to work in loud environments around dangerous materials in varying types of weather.
                  • Ability to lift objects more than 25 pounds
                  • Long periods of standing may be required
                  • Travel and overtime may be needed
                  Education and Experience:
                  • 4-yr college degree preferred but not required. Desirable study concentration in construction management.
                  • CQM cert is required

                  is required
                  • 10 years verifiable similar Superintendent experience in general construction
                  • Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of construction.
                  • Experienced in managing multiple projects
                  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license and clean DMV record
                  • Obtain minimum vehicle insurance or 100/300/100
                  • Must be able to obtain security clearance
                  Job Type:
                  Full-time Pay:
                  $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
