POSITION SUMMARY
The Boys & Girls Club Site Coordinator serves as the on-site operational and program lead responsible for the safe, effective, and high-quality daily operation of the Boys & Girls Club. This position bridges strategic program goals established by leadership with day-to-day implementation, ensuring Club services align with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) standards, Tribal priorities, grant requirements, and organizational policies. The Site Coordinator provides direct supervision and coaching to frontline staff, oversees implementation of youth development programming, and ensures operational excellence through strong systems, accountability, and relationship-building. While maintaining regular interaction with youth, this role functions primarily as a leadership position focused on program quality, staff performance, and operational consistency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Site Leadership & Operational Oversight Serve as the designated on-site leader during operating hours with authority to make day-to-day operational decisions. Oversee all daily site functions including opening/closing procedures, staffing coverage, room assignments, and activity schedules. Maintain a safe, welcoming, and culturally respectful Club environment that supports youth development and family engagement. Monitor facility readiness, cleanliness, and safety; coordinate maintenance requests and preventative upkeep. Ensure operational consistency across programs and activities through implementation of standardized procedures. Staff Leadership, Coaching & Accountability Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to frontline youth development staff and part-time employees. Lead staff onboarding and support ongoing professional development aligned with BGCA youth development practices. Assist with staffing plans, scheduling, timekeeping, and coverage to ensure compliance with supervision ratios. Conduct routine performance feedback and identify training or corrective action needs. Model professional conduct and maintain positive team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement. Elevate staffing concerns, performance issues, or policy violations to the Education Director as appropriate. Program Quality & Youth Development Coordinate daily implementation of BGCA core program areas including education, leadership, health & wellness, recreation, cultural enrichment, and life skills. Ensure programs are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with organizational outcomes. Monitor program delivery and youth engagement through observation and staff guidance. Support planning and execution of special events, field trips, and seasonal programming. Utilize positive behavior guidance strategies and ensure consistent application of youth behavior policies. Maintain direct, positive interaction with youth while prioritizing leadership responsibilities. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management Ensure compliance with BGCA standards, Tribal policies, licensing requirements, and grant-funded program expectations. Maintain appropriate staff-to-youth ratios and enforce safety protocols. Oversee incident reporting procedures and ensure timely documentation. Support audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping and documentation practices. Maintain confidentiality regarding youth, families, staff, and organizational operations. Data, Reporting & Grant Support Oversee attendance tracking, program documentation, and performance data collection. Assist in preparation of reports required for grants, funding agencies, and internal leadership. Ensure data accuracy and consistency to support funding sustainability and program evaluation. Support implementation of continuous improvement processes using participation data and outcome measures. Family & Community Engagement Serve as a primary site-level contact for families, youth, and community partners. Foster positive, culturally responsive relationships with parents, guardians, schools, and partner agencies. Represent the Club professionally at community meetings, outreach activities, and Tribal events. Support strategies that increase youth participation and strengthen community trust in Club programming. Professional Responsibilities Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities. Maintain certifications and knowledge relevant to youth safety and program quality. Perform additional duties as assigned to support evolving organizational priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in education, youth development, recreation, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Minimum 3 years experience working with youth programs or out-of-school-time settings. At least 1 year supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, lead staff, and manage daily operations. Knowledge of BGCA programming or positive youth development frameworks preferred. Valid California Driver's License and insurability to drive Tribal or organizational vehicles.

CERTIFICATIONS & EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old. High School Diploma or GED required. TB test clearance required. First Aid, CPR, and Epi-Pen certification required within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Ability to work flexible hours including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to maintain active supervision of youth and respond quickly to emergencies. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and participate in youth activities throughout the workday. Maintain mental and physical alertness necessary for safe youth supervision.
