The Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents, DSA requirements, and company standards. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple trades while maintaining the highest level of quality and safety. Responsibilities Manage and oversee all daily field operations from mobilization through project closeout. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner representatives to maintain project schedules and productivity. Enforce project safety requirements and maintain compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety policies. Review and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals. Develop and maintain short-term schedules and look-ahead plans to ensure timely completion of work. Coordinate inspections with DSA, local jurisdictions, and third-party agencies as required. Monitor quality control and ensure work is installed in accordance with contract documents and industry standards. Manage site logistics, manpower, material deliveries, and equipment usage. Identify and resolve field conflicts and coordinate solutions with the Project Manager and design team. Prepare daily reports, maintain project documentation, and utilize Procore and other construction management software. Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism. Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists, commissioning, and turnover. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on public works projects. Experience with DSA projects required and occupied campus environments preferred. Strong understanding of building systems including structural, civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other construction management software. Thorough knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety requirements. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain project schedules in a fast-paced environment. OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
