Job Description:
Foreman / Assistant Superintendent - High-End Residential | San Francisco | $90,000-$120,000 + Bonus A small, intentionally hands-on residential construction firm working on remodels, renovations, and ongoing home maintenance for private clients across San Francisco, Marin, and the Peninsula. Current projects range from $1M-$8M - including an active $6.5M renovation in SF. Looking for a field leader who knows how to run a site, manage trades, and keep work moving without needing to be managed themselves. What you'll own: Day-to-day field coordination across active residential projects Subcontractor scheduling, sequencing, and site readiness Daily documentation: photos, site notes, lookahead schedules - comfort with phone-based logging and basic spreadsheets is a plus Early identification of drawing gaps, scope conflicts, and RFIs Keeping the site clean, safe, and ready for each trade What we're looking for: 5+ years in high-end residential construction 2+ years in a foreman, lead, or assistant superintendent role Experience coordinating multiple subs on active job sites Strong grasp of residential sequencing and quality standards Clear communicator who brings solutions, not just problems Valid CA driver's license, reliable transportation, and comfort traveling between project sites in SF, Marin, and the Peninsula Bonus if you have: Trade background (carpentry, framing, finish work) Familiarity with SF permitting, inspections, or local building requirements Experience working alongside a PM or office-based construction team Who fits this role: Lead carpenter ready to step up. Foreman or Asst. Super from a residential builder. APM with strong field time. PM who wants to get back on the tools.
Growth path:
This role is built to expand. Strong performers move toward Superintendent-level responsibility within 12-18 months as the company grows. Primary work is in San Francisco, with future projects in Marin and the Peninsula.
