You will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Your leadership will reflect our commitment to building relationships based on trust, teamwork, and mutual respect, and to surpassing the expectations of our customers in all that we do. 1. Project Planning & Coordination Oversee all phases of project management, including budgeting, pre-construction, scheduling, procurement and resource allocation. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including key milestones and deadlines. Collaborate closely with field superintendents, foremen, estimators, engineers and client to align project goals and execution strategies. Review blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings to develop project plans. Define scope, schedule, and resource needs for each project phase. Demonstrate initiative and a solution-oriented mindset to ensure project success and profitability. 2. Budget & Financial Management Manage project budgets, cost controls and financial tracking throughout the lifecycle of the job. Monitor labor hours, material usage, subcontractor performance, and committed costs against budget. Ensure each active project is billed monthly, accurately, and in alignment with contract terms, regardless of the project stage or complexity. Follow all billing timelines and submission requirements outlined in our Billing Policy & Procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance. Monitor project costs and forecasts to maintain profitability and ensure financial accountability. Identify and escalate potential cost overruns, cash flow concerns or scope gaps proactively. 3. Contract & Documentation Management Review and understand all contractual terms, insurance requirements, billing procedures, closeout obligations and relevant deadlines to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Manage and maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and compliance records, ensuring they are timely and traceable. 4. Field Quality Control Ensure the work is performed with attention to detail and adherence to plans, specs and client expectations. Conduct regular inspections and participate in punch walks to verify installation quality and resolve deficiencies. Supervise site foremen and electricians to ensure work meets quality and safety standards. Resolve on-site problems, including technical challenges, delays, or conflicts. Escalate field issues requiring project executive and/ or client intervention. 5. Safety & Compliance Promote and enforce a safety-first mindset, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA, local codes and union safety standards across all projects. Identify and mitigate potential safety and operational risks early in the project lifecycle, collaborating with field leadership and safety personnel to implement preventative measures. Ensure required permits, inspections, and licenses are obtained, tracked, and kept current throughout the project duration. 6. Client & Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders, maintaining open communication and fostering long-term relationships. Proactively address issues and provide timely solutions to maintain customer satisfaction. Provide regular updates, forecasts, and progress reports to clients and leadership. 7. Team Leadership Foster a culture of teamwork, mutual respect and collaboration among internal and external partners. Contribute to successful project delivery by supporting additional initiatives or taking on temporary responsibilities as needed to maintain project continuity and alignment with organizational goals. Maintains strong, clear communication and manages relationships effectively. Manages project budgets, job costs, and financial reporting with accuracy and accountability. Builds realistic schedules, manages deadlines, and mitigates delays proactively. Works cross-functionally with office and field staff to align goals. Champions a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintains clear, complete, and organized documentation for all project activities. Addresses challenges with sound judgment and timely resolution. Ensures workmanship meets company and client expectations through active oversight. Responds to project demands and changing conditions with flexibility and leadership.
Qualifications:
5+ years of project management experience in electrical construction, preferably in a union environment. In-depth knowledge of the NEC, California Building Code, and labor agreements with IBEW or NECA. Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, MS Project). Strong leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients, crews, and stakeholders. Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
