Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, driven, and highly organized Director of Construction to lead our construction operations and project delivery across Westside Build's portfolio of high-end residential projects. You are a leader who mentors project managers, site supers, nurtures high-level subcontractor relationships, and ensures our "Westside" brand of excellence is visible on every job site. The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership, deep residential construction expertise, and the ability to manage teams, trade partners, schedules, budgets, and systems in a fast-moving environment. Experience with high-end custom homes, production systems, and modern construction technology is highly valued. As the Director of Construction, you are the strategic engine behind WestsideBuild's project execution. You will oversee the entire construction lifecycle from pre-construction planning and budgeting to final walkthroughs, ensuring every project meets our standards of quality, safety, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all construction operations across multiple high-end residential projects. • Manage and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure strong execution and accountability.• Establish construction standards, processes, and quality control systems across all projects. Partner with executive leadership to develop construction strategy, staffing plans, and operational improvements. Oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement, and subcontractor performance. Implement systems that increase efficiency, predictability, and scalability of construction operations. Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure seamless integration of architectural intent and buildability. Ensure all projects meet safety standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements. Review project financials, cost reports, and change orders to maintain financial discipline. Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field required Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Construction Management, or Engineering preferred Equivalent combination of education and extensive design-build leadership experience will be considered. Qualifications 15+ years of construction management experience , with a strong track record in residential or luxury home construction. 5+ years in a Director, VP, or executive-level leadership role overseeing construction teams and operations. 7+ years of experience managing high-end custom residential new builds. Deep understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing. Proven experience managing multiple projects and large construction teams simultaneously. Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to scale operations. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Strong financial acumen with experience managing construction budgets and cost controls.
