Construction Superintendent - Healthcare (OSHPD), K-12, Higher-ed, Public Works ConstructionWe are an employee owned construction leader committed to building meaningful projects that strengthen communities. Position OverviewExperienced Construction Superintendent responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising commercial, public works, healthcare, and educational building projects from pre-construction through closeout. The Superintendent will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards (including OSHPD and HCAI where applicable). The role requires strong leadership, hands-on field presence, excellent communication with stakeholders, and proven experience across K-12, higher education, commercial, and public works environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily field operations and provide visible, hands-on supervision to ensure work is performed safely, to quality standards, and according to schedule and plans.

Develop, maintain, and update project schedules; coordinate trades and subcontractors to meet critical path milestones and manage float effectively.

Enforce site safety programs and regulatory requirements; conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.

Manage quality control and construction means and methods; perform inspections, identify non-conforming work, and implement corrective actions to meet contract documents and specifications.

Ensure regulatory compliance for specialized projects, including OSHPD and HCAI processes for healthcare facilities, and adhere to public works and school district requirements for K-12/higher-ed projects.

Coordinate with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and design teams to resolve field issues and maintain positive client relations.

Oversee materials, equipment, and equipment staging logistics; verify deliveries, control site logistics, and protect installed work.

Track daily production, labor, and field reporting; maintain accurate records including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports and punch lists.

Control site costs through effective supervision of labor, subcontractors, and materials; report concerns and propose mitigation strategies to the project team.

Plan and execute project turnover and closeout activities, including commissioning coordination, final inspections, punch lists, and full documentation delivery to the owner.

Coordinate construction activity around occupied facilities (schools, hospitals) to minimize disruption and meet special phasing, security, and infection control requirements.

Mentor and develop field personnel; promote teamwork, continuous improvement, and adherence to company policies and client standards.

Qualifications5+ years of Superintendent experience on commercial, public works, healthcare (OSHPD/HCAI), and education (K-12 and higher-ed) projects; 10+ years preferred.

Proven experience managing OSHPD and HCAI regulatory processes or similar healthcare construction compliance requirements.

Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), and field documentation best practices.

Demonstrated experience with public works contracts, school district procedures, and coordination with inspectors and governing agencies.

Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, OSHA standards, and ability to lead safety programs on site; OSHA 30 preferred.

Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Experience managing budgets, subcontractor coordination, and change order documentation.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel between job sites as required.

Relevant certifications preferred: Construction Management or related degree, CPR/First Aid, Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or similar; trade licenses a plus.
