Project:
The Harbor UCLA replacement is a $1.7B multiyear program. The program consists of various small, medium and large projects. The current HUCLA medical center hospital is not compliant with the state mandate seismic code, and therefore a need for replacement new hospital. In addition, there will be outpatient, support building, parking structure/surface lots, central utility plant, 12KV/66KV substation and utility corridor projects. The scoping documents are complete and initial demolition/ move management has already started and the major D/B procurement is underway. The entire program is scheduled to finish fall 2027.
Daily Responsibilities:
Provide overall quality assurance for scheduling services across the program Develop, update, and maintain program schedules, including revisions as required Perform cost and resource loading of schedules to support accurate forecasting Generate and analyze regular cash flow reports Oversee scheduling staff assigned to the program Mentor and support schedulers in the development and review of baseline schedules Review and validate monthly and weekly schedule updates for accuracy and compliance Prepare "what-if" scenario schedules based on changes in sequence or execution strategy Analyze schedule resequencing options and advise management on potential impacts and outcomes Review and analyze time impacts related to scope changes, delays, or disruptions Develop and support time impact analyses and recommend resolution strategies Coordinate schedule-related inputs with project controls, cost, and management teams Provide leadership and assume the duties of the Program Controls Manager when unavailable or when additional support is required Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.): Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 10+ years of scheduling experience on large-scale vertical construction projects. Demonstrated experience in staff oversight is required. Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Bluebeam or other project review tools. Experience supporting projects of at least $50 million in value. Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, project sequencing, and earned value and forensic schedule analysis. Ability to support multiple phases or projects within a broader program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience working as senior scheduler on a hospital or medical project. Previous work experience with healthcare or public-sector building programs. Previous work experience working on OSHPD/HCAI-regulated medical facility projects. Exposure to utility and infrastructure coordination within large-scale sites. Ability to collaborate in a joint venture or multi-partner delivery model. Experience mentoring junior staff or coordinating small scheduling teams preferred.
