Assistant Construction Manager

Petroleum Builders, Inc. (PB) is a Central Valley-based General Contractor specializing in new build commercial construction. Our portfolio includes ground-up developments in Merced, Modesto, Ceres, Tracy, Manteca, and other locations throughout the region. PB is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support our expanding operations. This is a versatile, primarily office-based role that includes coordinating with site team, calling inspections, material orders, and assisting with construction staking. We're looking for a candidate who is experienced, reliable, self-motivated, and professional — someone who takes initiative and can represent PB on-site with confidence and integrity. Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay 36$/hr Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401K Employer Match Paid Time Off (Vacation & Holiday) 8-hour workday Monday to Friday Responsibilities Must be able to read and interpret plans Material bids & procurement Coordinate with field teams for material deliveries and delivery requirements Communicate & coordinate with clients, construction team, & subcontractors Understand project schedule Updated material order lists and project schedule Call inspections Work respectably with city / 3rd party inspectors Occasional site visits Assist with construction staking Skills Minimum 2 years of construction experience (experience can be field or office) Good Technical knowledge and communications skills Good technical writing skills Proficiency in Bluebeam & Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project) Good organization skills Ability to multi-task and properly prioritize tasks Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering (or comparable degree) Office Location 5 E Main St (Suite B), Turlock, CA 95381
