Job Description

Live Oak Landscaping is seeking an Assistant Operations & Project Manager to support landscape construction operations, project coordination, and field execution across multiple commercial projects. This is a hybrid field and operations role for a highly organized, dependable, and solution-oriented individual who can help keep projects moving, support management, and step into leadership on select commercial projects throughout the year. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in both field and office environments, communicating with crews and clients, and helping coordinate scheduling, logistics, and project execution. This role offers variety, responsibility, and long-term growth potential within the company. ⸻ Responsibilities Support daily landscape construction operations and project coordination Assist management with field oversight and jobsite execution Lead select commercial & public/prevailing wage landscape projects from start to finish Coordinate crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment Monitor job progress, quality, and deadlines Review plans, layouts, and specifications before and during installation Assist with estimating, takeoffs, and project planning as needed Support scheduling, logistics, and workflow across multiple active jobs Track labor productivity, materials, and job progress Identify and resolve jobsite issues quickly and effectively Maintain safe jobsite conditions and enforce safety standards Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, supervisors, and field teams Support training and mentoring of field staff when needed ⸻ Qualifications Commercial & Residential Landscape construction experience preferred (5+ years a plus, not required) Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Basic estimating and takeoff experience preferred Strong client communication and relationship skills Critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail Understanding of production efficiency and labor management Comfortable using phones, email, text, and basic computer tools for coordination and scheduling Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong organization and communication skills Self-motivated, dependable, and solution-oriented mindset Ability to transition between field operations and office coordination tasks Valid Driver's License required Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus ⸻ The following could also be considered in place of the 5 years of landscape experience : Supervisory experience in related construction trades (concrete, framing, excavation, utilities, grading, etc.) Formal education in horticulture, construction management, or a related field Combination of field experience and leadership ability demonstrating readiness for a hybrid operations role ⸻ Preferred Skills Estimating, takeoffs, or job costing Reading scaled drawings and construction plans Scheduling with subcontractors, material ordering, or vendor coordination Understanding of production planning and jobsite workflow Equipment operation experience ⸻ Work Environment Hybrid field and office role Fast-paced environment with multiple active projects Occasional physically demanding jobsite tasks
Pay:
$62,400.00 - $72,800.00 per year People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
