Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced New Site Build Construction Manager to lead the full lifecycle of wireless telecommunications new site construction projects — from initial ground-up build through closeout. New site build experience is the primary focus of this search, and candidates with hands-on experience across raw land, colocation, rooftop, and utility pole site types are strongly encouraged to apply. We are casting a wide net: depending on your background and experience, you may be considered for a Construction Manager, Construction Supervisor, or Civil Construction Manager role. Key Responsibilities:
Field & Construction Oversight Lead and oversee day-to-day construction activities on wireless telecommunications job sites, including new site builds across raw land, colocation, rooftop, and utility pole site types. Serve as the primary point of contact for all on-site crew questions, direction requests, and field clarifications. Direct crews, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with the approved scope of work. Conduct pre-construction walks, bid walks, and post-construction punch walks; inspect and approve subcontractor work in the field and document deficiencies. Oversee and/or perform RF line/antenna installation, including antennas, RRUs, coax, fiber, power trunks, RET motors, grounding, weatherproofing, microwave dishes, GPS antennas, and cabling supports. Oversee and/or perform civil and electrical construction tasks including concrete foundations, equipment pads, H-frames, trenching, directional boring, conduit installation for power and fiber, DC/AC power systems, generators, transformers, and site preparation. Oversee underground and AAV (Alternative Access Vendor) fiber installation and conduit runs for power and fiber systems. Review and interpret construction drawings, RFDSs, NTPs, MOPs, and all project-related documentation; ensure all crews are working from current, approved documents at all times. Coordinate material and equipment delivery to job sites; validate and report on-site inventory of customer-supplied (SP/ASP) and internal materials. Evaluate work trucks prior to mobilization to confirm correct materials, tools, and PPE are loaded. Identify scope deviations, potential change orders, and out-of-scope work; report findings to the Project Manager for resolution. Drive timely completion and submission of Close Out Packages (COPs) for each site, including pre/post photographs, redlined construction drawings, test results, and all client-required closeout documentation. Ensure building final inspection coordination is completed on applicable projects. Project & Office Responsibilities Manage assigned projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and scope. Prepare or assist with scopes of work, bills of materials (BOMs), and project quotes for assigned projects. Review customer-provided construction documents, RFDSs, and NTPs to validate scope and customer-supplied materials. Manage customer and client correspondence; serve as a reliable point of contact for assigned projects and communicate proactively on status, issues, schedule changes, and deliverables. Track and manage project deliverables, timelines, and documentation; identify and escalate project risks, schedule conflicts, or budget concerns to the Project Manager in a timely manner. Assist with new site turn-up and development activities, including resource planning and cost estimate support. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, job logs, field reports, and Daily Field Activities across assigned projects. Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination Establish and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and local suppliers. Coordinate subcontractor activity on assigned job sites; ensure subs are working to scope, schedule, and safety requirements. Request and review quotes from supply vendors for accuracy; coordinate material procurement and delivery logistics. Build and assign set crews for assigned projects; manage crew scheduling and resource allocation across active job sites. Safety Ensure a Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) and current Rigging/Construction Plan (per
ANSI/ASSP A10.48
) are completed, present on site, and actively followed for all applicable work. Conduct daily safety tailgate meetings; enforce all PPE and safety requirements on every job site. Conduct on-site safety audits of internal crews and subcontractors; ensure the Nuwave Job Site Safety Banner is posted on every site. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events; complete required reporting and ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA, DOT, and all applicable regulations.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of hands-on experience in wireless telecom construction (RF, civil, electrical, or a combination). Prior Foreman or supervisory experience required. Demonstrated experience with new site builds (raw land, colocation, rooftop, and/or utility pole). Hands-on experience with line/antenna installation, civil construction, or electrical systems. Experience working with one or more of the following carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Dish/Boost Mobile, US Cellular, and/or Viaero Wireless. Ability to work comfortably at elevated heights on towers, rooftops, and stealth structures. Rigging, knot-tying, and crane hand signal experience. Familiarity with Rigging/Construction Plan requirements per
ANSI/ASSP A10.48.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, RFDSs, NTPs, and MOPs. Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and Teams. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization required). Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.
