- Full-time Maxwell Development is seeking an experienced Construction Lead to oversee residential construction projects and manage a field crew of 2-3 employees.
This hands-on leadership position requires strong experience in excavation, foundation layout, concrete form work, utility installation, and septic system construction. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, able to read plans, and capable of leading projects from site preparation through foundation completion while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and productivity. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a crew of 2-3 construction laborers. Coordinate daily job site activities and ensure projects stay on schedule. Perform and oversee excavation for residential foundations, utilities, and site development. Layout house foundations according to construction plans and specifications. Install underground utilities, including water, sewer, and drainage systems. Construct residential septic systems. Build and set concrete forms for footings and stem walls. Operate equipment, including excavators, skid steers and compactors. Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grading plans. Maintain job site safety and enforce company safety standards. Qualifications 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred. Previous experience leading construction crews. Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, foundation layout, and concrete form work. Experience installing residential septic systems and underground utilities. Ability to read blueprints and construction plans. Experience operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications CDL license (preferred but not required).
