Job Description

Site Supervisor Field Execution & Daily Coordination Role Summary The Site Supervisor (Superintendent) is the face of Bishop Built on-site. They have a complete understanding of the project from foundation to finish. They are responsible for leading teams in the day-to-day execution of construction, ensuring projects are built safely, on schedule, to plan, and to quality standards by overseeing field crew, subcontractors, materials, and inspections. The Site Supervisor is the bridge between the field and project management.
The Standard:
Premier clients don't tolerate imperfection. Supers own site professionalism—aware of client presence, prepping for the next activity, staying on subs to clean up. This role is not the "best carpenter," it is a defined leadership position. Core Responsibilities Site Leadership & Execution Show up early to open the site, prepared with instructions for crews, and the resources needed Lead all on-site activities from mobilization through close-out; direct crews and subs efficiently Toolbelt on, serve as on-site authority for plans, specs, and construction standards Be aware of the site, ordering supplies when low, arranging equipment and materials Carry a professional demeanor and attitude, setting the tone for crews on site Ensure the site is secured properly at the end of each day Safety & Quality Maintain a clean, safe, organized job site at all times, sweeping constantly Monitor the working environment, mitigating hazards and protecting finished work Verify work per drawings, and code; enforce punch-list standards Enforce OSHA and company safety standards; conduct daily briefings; stop unsafe work immediately Schedule & Coordination Execute the PM's schedule; flagging conflicts or delays early, with proposed solutions Coordinate subs, inspections, deliveries, and site logistics; ensure prerequisite work is complete Submit daily logs via BuilderTrend (labor, weather, progress, issues, photos) Assist with RFIs, field clarifications, and as-built information Owns vs. Does Not Own Owns Does Not Own Site cleanliness, professionalism, and safety Scope changes or cost approvals Daily coordination of crews and subs Schedule promises to clients Daily logs and reality reporting Budget or change order authority Quality enforcement and punch-list standards Client relationship management Escalation Guidance Escalate risk to the PM clearly and early; never let bad news travel slowly Say "no" professionally when asked to commit outside your authority Protect client confidence on site; protect the Owner's time by resolving what you can How This Role Supports Others Supports How Project Manager Provides real-time field data, progress updates Communicates priorities, keeps schedules Field Crew Sets priorities, removes confusion, maintains site order Bookkeeper Verifies work completion and labor activity Client Experience Keeps the site presentable and professional Success Looks Like Jobs run clean, safe, and organized with minimal rework Subs know expectations, and show up prepared; PMs trust site reporting Clients and inspectors experience a well-run, professional jobsite Qualifications 3-10+ years construction field experience supervising crews and subcontractors Strong knowledge of drawings, specs, safety regulations, and site logistics Clear communicator; calm under pressure; detail-oriented but production-minded
Preferred:
BuilderTrend/Procore experience, trade background, OSHA 30 certification Tools BuilderTrend (daily logs, photos, tasks) Should own most tools, hand tools are assumed Mobile device with camera
